Officers responded to Getty Avenue and Crooks Avenue around 11:39 a.m., after receiving reports of a serious motor vehicle collision, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi.

Investigators determined that a 2021 Chevy Trailblazer, driven by a 35-year-old Madison woman, was involved in a crash with four other vehicles before hitting the pedestrian, authorities said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, prosecutors said. Officials have not yet determined what led to the crash, and the investigation remains active, authorities said.
